Packages
- Six wedding packages are available and all of them can be customized to meet your needs and expectations. I offer estimates based on preliminary meetings or consultations and submit updated estimates, if relevant circumstances of the job change. I ask clients to sign-off on each estimate, so that all parties are in agreement as to the services that are required.
- Albums are available for all the packages, either a la carte or included.
- If you want something to be included in your package and you do not see it listed, just ask. I will provide you with an estimate.
Film and Camera Types
- A lot has changed since I first published this web site. Five years ago, film-based technology was still considered a viable option. Today, advances in digital imaging have made digital capture the clear choice for professional photographers. The entire photography industry has embraced the digital workflow, from capture to output. Film-based image capture is no longer offered in DFM Photography wedding packages.
Black & White
- I am glad to offer black and white services for weddings and portraits. At weddings, I always have at least three cameras on hand. When black and white photographs are requested, one of those cameras can be dedicated to black and white film.
- Recent digital technology makes It is possible to produce a black and white print from a color negative. This is one of the ways in which a studio can produce a print with colorful flowers in a black and white background.
Albums
- If they are not already included as part of the package, albums are available A la carte. All albums included with a package have a minimum of 50 images.
- DFM Photography wishes for the Bride and Groom to have as much control over the look and feel of their album as possible. At the same time, DFM Photography needs some creative license and must be allowed to make some decisions that are in the best interest of the clients. Therefore, clients are asked to submit (via e-mail) the file names of 20 to 30 image choices that they feel must be in the album. They are also asked to submit the file names of the images that they do not want to see in the album. DFM Photography then designs the album (choosing addition images, as necessary, to fill the album) and submits a PDF proof for client approval. The client has the final say about which images are in the album.
- If Bride and Groom do not send their image and/or size preference for their album within 3 months, DFM Photography reserves the right to produce the album with images choosen by the photographer (David McKinney). This is to discourage clients from delaying the production of the album by submitting their choices late. Late submission creates logical problems for DFM Photography, especially during the peak of the wedding season.
- The LabPrints software enables online proofing and ordering. The software also allows DFM Photography and the client to sit down together and see the way the album will look before the pictures are placed in the album.
- For a list of web sites that display albums, please visit the DFM_Photography wedding resources page.
Proofing and Ordering
- With most wedding packages, clients receive a TopFlight or spiral bound proofbook. Image negative frames or digital file names are listed for each proof image. If you wish to order images after the online ordering has expired, just refer to the file or negative frame in the proofbook.
- Online ordering is available for every wedding package, using LabPrints and Millers Professional Imaging. Images can be viewed online for 90 days, using an internet browser such as Safari, Netscape, FireFox or Internet Explorer. If online ordering needs to be extended beyond 90 days, there is an additional charge of $50.00 for each additional 30-day period.
- All images in tradition proofbooks are free of watermarks or studio logos.
- Visit the DFM procedures for a detailed outline of how the whole process works.

- On location portraits provide greater variety and flexibility. See package details for the amount of time dedicated to the shoot.
